Gabriella’s Life

During her short but intense life, Gabriella (1992-2014) always pursued her goals with passion, diligence and humility.

At the premature age of 6, after assisting to a performance of the Baby Suzuki Orchestra of Molfetta directed by Annalisa Andriani, Gabriella decided to start studying violin, showing immediately talent and discipline. At the same age, she also chose to study the English language and she started to attend the English Academy Molfetta (BA, Italy) run by Prof. Lenny De Pinto.

From then on, Gabriella’s passions for music and foreign languages developed hand-in-hand.

She received her High School Diploma in Foreign Languages in 2011 and her Violin Diploma from the Conservatory of Bari “N. Piccinni” in 2012 under the guidance of Carmelo Andriani, both with top marks.

In 2014, she was going to graduate in Foreign Languages at the University of Bari “A. Moro”.

The exciting Erasmus experience in Liverpool (Sept. 2013 – Jan. 2014) broadened her horizons, also thanks to a collaboration with the University of Liverpool Symphony Orchestra directed by Tony Schorrocks: this collaboration culminated in the offer of a Violin Fellowship for the Academic Year 2014-2015.

During her career she attended numerous Orchestra and Violin Training Courses organized by world-famous artists (C. Andriani, L. Shambadal, A. Sorokow, F. Ayo amongst the others).

Furthermore, she worked with the “Orchestra Sinfonica della Provincia di Bari” and the “Orchestra della Magna Grecia di Taranto” directed by, amongst the others, Daniel Oren and Luigi Piovano.

Gabriella was always the same, with her family and friends: a beautiful girl with a shining smile and a huge thirst for knowledge. Her peculiarity was the love for the “Maestro”: she absorbed every stimulus surrounding her.

The people who have had the privilege to know her believe that Gabriella, Violin Angel, keeps on living in Music, “a mirror in which one can see himself in the flesh” (“specchio in cui riflettersi e vedersi non in carne ed ossa”) in a never-ending harmony.
